Furnished renting, verified on both sides

Motomo is a new way to find furnished, flexible rentals of 30 days or more on a month-to-month basis. Renters build one free verified report and share it with any host. Hosts get applicants who are already checked.

  • Identity checked against a government ID and a live match to the person
  • Income confirmed at the source, not typed into a form
  • Rental history confirmed in writing by past landlords
  • Free for renters to build, share and reuse at every place
  • Built around the housing laws in both cities

Who it is for

One report, four reasons to use it

Renting a furnished place for a few months usually means a new application at every listing, and a host guessing which of forty messages to trust. Motomo replaces both with one verified report.

Landlords and hosts

Rent furnished rooms and apartments for 30 days or more to people whose identity, income and rental history are already checked.

A flat monthly fee by rooms, with no commission and nothing per applicant.

Applicants arrive verified

Identity, employment, income and past tenancies are confirmed at the source before anyone applies.

Compare instead of chasing

Every applicant’s report in the same format, side by side, in the order they arrived.

Your city’s screening rules, built in

What you can ask, when you can ask it, and what an applicant has to be told, in New York City and Philadelphia.

List where you already advertise

Share your listing page on the sites you use today, and people apply with their report.

Renters

Build one report about yourself and share it with any host, instead of filling in a new application at every listing.

Free to build, free to share and free to apply with. Always.

Yours to control

You see everything in it, choose who reads it, and can take back access at any time.

Share it with anyone

Send it to any landlord, including ones who are not on Motomo yet.

Made for stays of 30 days or more

Work contracts, clinical rotations, study, relocation, or time between places.

Stronger every time you rent

Past landlords confirm your tenancies in writing, and rentals through Motomo add themselves.

Agents and brokers

For licensed agents renting furnished whole apartments for owners.

A flat monthly fee per agent, never per applicant, lead or placement.

Applicants arrive verified

Stop collecting pay stubs and calling past landlords for every vacancy.

One invite link for every listing

Renters who follow it build a report they keep and can use after your listing.

The owner decides, on the record

Share reports with the owner and record every outcome in the owner’s name.

Your license, checked with the state

Your listings show that you are licensed and acting for a named owner.

Agencies and institutions

For staffing agencies, hospitals, universities and relocation teams that place people who need housing.

A free plan for housing offices, and a flat monthly fee per coordinator for agency tools.

Listings that fit each assignment

Enter the dates and housing budget, and see available furnished listings that cover the whole stay.

The person you place chooses

Send them the list. They pick where to apply, with their own report.

Letters and stipends confirmed with you

Hosts learn only whether a stipend covers the rent, never the amount.

See who is housed

Invited, looking or housed for each person you place, and never anyone’s report.

How it works

Checked once, shared by link

1

A renter builds their report

Identity, work, income and rental history, each checked with the source and dated. It takes a few minutes, and it is free.

2

They share it with a link

With any host they like, on Motomo or anywhere they found a listing. They can see who has it and withdraw access at any time.

3

The host reads it and decides

Every fact shows how it was checked and when. The host makes the decision, and the report keeps a record of what it rested on.

What is checked

What is in the report, and why

Six sections, checked the same way for everybody. Each one is there because it answers a question every host asks.

Identity

A government document checked against its security features, plus a live match to the person holding it.

Why it is included. It ties everything else to the person applying.

Employment

Confirmed through payroll, the employer, or a letter from an agency, hospital or university.

Why it is included. It shows where the income comes from and that it is current.

Income

Confirmed against the same source as employment rather than typed into a form.

Why it is included. A figure confirmed at the source does not have to be taken on trust.

Cash on hand

Balances read from a live bank connection. Transactions are not read or shown.

Why it is included. It gives a fair picture of people between contracts, newly arrived, or paying from savings.

Housing allowance

Where an employer or agency pays toward housing, we confirm it with them.

Why it is included. Allowances and vouchers are a protected source of income in both cities.

Rental history

Past landlords answer five short questions in writing, and tenancies through Motomo add themselves.

Why it is included. How somebody kept past tenancies is the best evidence of the next one.

Housing law

Built around the housing laws where you rent

Motomo follows the tenant screening rules in New York City and Philadelphia: what can be asked, when it can be asked, and what an applicant has to be told. The product enforces those rules, so they hold without anybody having to remember them.

  • Screening criteria published on each listing before anyone applies
  • Each city's application fee rules applied automatically
  • The written notice the law requires, sent when a host declines
  • Renters see everything in their report and can dispute anything in it
Questions

Before we launch

Is Motomo available yet?

Not yet. We are building it now, starting in New York City and Philadelphia. Join the waitlist and we will be in touch before launch.

What does it cost?

Renters never pay anything, to build a report, to share it, or to apply. Landlords will pay a flat monthly fee, with no commission and nothing per applicant. Licensed agents and brokers will pay a flat monthly fee per agent. Agencies will have a free plan for housing offices and a flat monthly fee per coordinator. People on the waitlist hear about pricing first.

What kind of rentals is it for?

Furnished rooms, suites and whole apartments, rented for 30 days or more on a month-to-month basis. That suits people on work contracts, clinical rotations, study, relocation, or anyone between places.

Who can see a renter's report?

Only the hosts a renter shares it with. Reports are shared as a link and read on Motomo, so a host always sees the current version. The renter can see who has it and withdraw access at any time.

What happens to the information I put in this form?

We use it only to contact you about Motomo. We do not sell it or share it, and you can ask us to delete it whenever you like.
